Bonsai Beer

TASTE ROOM is a young brand of craft beer, founded in Hangzhou, China by a group of designers and artists who love beers by heart. Illustration artist PJ and graphic designer Wang Yuan collaborated together again on its font and poster design. PJ and Wang Yuan selected 36 bonsais from spring, summer, autumn and winter and artistically integrated them into the sceneries of four seasons; the font of the brand’s Chinese name is also designed by borrowing the form of the bonsai. The poster design takes a bold approach to
introduce the idea of a label, which prioritized the purpose of branding by enlarging the basic information of the product.  Pictorial and literal information, after being embedded into abstracted geometrical shapes, are reasonably categorized for people to read and digest, while delivering a sense of beauty in both function and form.
