Creative Summary
Bao Yuan is a new font family design that combines official script written by Huang Baoyue (1880-1969) with rounded gothic movable type, which is a combination of ancient and modern styles.
The design retains some of the features of the original masterpiece, with an overall slightly wide shape and stretching strokes. The details have been simplified while retaining a sense of brush writing. Subtle variations in stroke thickness are arranged to express a unique style: horizontal strokes have raised ends, vertical strokes are thinner in the middle, and round dots give the characters a lively and flexible appearance. It is suitable for short typesetting, packaging, book or poster headings, etc.
