International Jury Announcement
GDC设计奖2023围绕「确定的不确定」为主题，着重关注创意表达、科技融合、人文关怀、未来探索四个方向，力图聚焦更加丰富的创意呈现，探索更加多维的视觉表达，以及时代浪潮下，如何革新设计体验，同时带来更具社会价值以及人文情感的融合实践。
在GDC设计奖2023的评选中，我们非常荣幸邀请了一批享誉国际的知名设计师组成的评审团。这个团队汇聚了不同年龄段的专业设计师，每一位评委都拥有广泛的设计实践经验和前瞻性的设计理念，他们来自不同国家和文化背景，代表着各个专业领域。这些国际评委将以严谨和公正的态度，从专业的角度出发，对所有参赛作品进行仔细评审。他们将深入了解每一件作品背后的创意灵感、设计原理以及表达的意义。评判标准将聚焦于创新、实用性、美学价值以及对社会和环境的积极影响。

The era of rapid iteration makes design richer and more diverse while the wave of new technologies triggers unpredictable design transformation. Designers are faced with a more uncertain context than ever before. GDC Award 2023 is themed with “the Certainty of Uncertainties”, focusing on four directions, namely creative expression, technology integration, humanistic care and future exploration, with an aim to highlight the richer creative presentation, explore more multi-dimensional visual expression, and how to revolutionize the design experience while bringing more social value and emotional connection through integrated design practices in the new era.
GDC Award 2023 is honored to invite a jury panel consisting of globally renowned designers. The panel brings together professional designers of all ages, from different countries with various cultural backgrounds. Each of them has extensive design practices and forward-looking design thinking, representing segmented fields of the design industry. The international judges will evaluate all the entries from a professional perspective in a rigorous and fair manner. They will look into the creative inspiration, design principles and meaning of each entry. The selection criteria will cover and focus on innovation, practicality, aesthetic value, and positive influence on society and the environment.
We firmly believe that the international judges will provide more diversified perspectives to the GDC Award 2023. Their professional insights will guide and inspire the participants, helping them to strive for excellence in design. We are looking forward to their professional judgment which will definitely make GDC Award 2023 a memorable feast of design.

曾任世界平面设计社团组织亚太区副主席、韩国视觉信息设计协会主席、安平面设计公司总裁。
安尚秀教授在许多国家举办了个人和团体的展出。1998 年安尚秀获得了第八届克罗地亚国际平面设计及视觉传递展的全场大奖，他的平面设计作品曾多次获得世界平面设计大奖，尤其是文字设计作品最为世界平面设计界所称道。
安尚秀教授在国际平面设计界具有较高的声望，曾多次应邀在中国或国际相关专业设计大赛中担任评审。
He used to serve as Vice President of the Asia-Pacific region of Icograda, President of Visual Information Design Association of Korea (VIDAD), and President of Ahn Graphics.
He has held individual and group exhibitions in many countries. 1998, Ahn Sang-Soo won the Grand Prize at the 8th International Graphic Design and Visual Communication Exhibition in Croatia. His graphic design works have won many world design awards, especially his typography are the most acclaimed.
Ahn Sang-Soo enjoys a high reputation in the international graphic design industry, and has been invited to serve as a judge for many Chinese or international design campaigns for many times.

Balmer Hählen是一家位于瑞士洛桑的平面设计工作室，由普莉希拉–巴尔莫和伊沃–海伦于2013年成立。工作室团队四人，以其专业为中心，主要专注于艺术、设计、音乐和摄影等文化领域。Balmer Hählen将数字媒体和传统纸媒通过跨学科的方式融入其日常思维，认为这两种媒体是相辅相成的。他们掌握了专业的纸媒和印刷技术，并数次策划组织了相关的主题活动。
他们的成果在国内外均有展出并获奖。2018年，该工作室获得了著名的东京字体指导俱乐部年度奖。此外，普莉希拉–巴尔莫和伊沃–海伦还经常受邀在会议、评审会和研讨会上分享他们的创作方法。他们曾应邀前往韩国（2023年）、墨西哥（2022年）、日本（2018年）和中国（2018年）等国家。2022年，该工作室的两位共同创始人成为国际平面设计联盟（AGI）的成员，这是对他们在平面设计领域的成绩的认可。
Founded in 2013 by Priscilla Balmer and Yvo Hählen, Balmer Hählen is a graphic design studio established in the heart of Lausanne. Composed of a team of four, the studio specializes mainly in cultural fields such as art, design, music, and photography, which are at the heart of their professional career.Through their transdisciplinary approach, Balmer Hählen integrates digital media and print into their thinking on a daily basis, considering these two mediums as complementary. They have acquired expertise in the field of papers and printing techniques, organizing several events related to these subjects.
Their achievements, both locally and internationally, are regularly exhibited and rewarded. In 2018, the studio received the prestigious Tokyo Type Directors Club Annual Awards. In addition, Priscilla Balmer and Yvo Hählen are often asked to share their approach during conferences, jury and workshops. Their experience has led them to travel to countries such as South Korea (2023), Mexico (2022), Japan (2018) and China (2018).Since 2022, the two co-founders of the studio have been members of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), a recognition of their commitment and expertise in the field of graphic design.

He looks for freshness and interest from life to explore more possibilities of design in life. He served as a judge for 2022 Tokyo TDC, Macau Design Award and Award 360.
He is a winner for many international awards, including New York ADC 96th Annual Awards Gold Prize, Tokyo TDC 2019, 2020 TDC Prize, Grand Prized and Gold Prize of DFA Design for Asia Awards 2019, Best Awards and Jury Award of GDC 2017 and 2019, the 9th National Exhibition of Book Design in China Gold Award and Judge’s Choice Award, HKDA Global Design Awards 2019 Gold Award etc. He also initiated and co-curated “Big, or Small” exhibition and forum, and “Typography Exit” exhibition.

Satoshi Kohno loves Bauhaus, constructivism and modern design. With this knowledge, he focuses on posters, brand identities, and record designs. His work ranges from advertising for large corporations such as Netflix and Central Japan Railway Company to branding for startups, local high school sporting events, and design for bands and artists.
As a result, he has won various awards including D&AD, One Show, ADC, Cannes Lions, etc. In 2016 he was honored to be named the ADC Young Guns 16 class.

Tommy is the brand designer/consultant for the generation renowned for his “Black Humor” and “Audacious Visual” designs. 深圳市平面设计协会（SGDA）成立于 1995 年，是国内首个非牟利的平面设计专业组织，旨在展现杰出的设计成就、鼓励和促进专业创作和探索的学术精神，推动社会对设计的关注和平面设计发展。促进协会和国际专业机构的学术交流。协会尊重每一位会员的同时让会员分享协会的荣耀、并努力成为观念开放和领先的学术研究者和专业实践者。
